Travelling Card Blitz, Card #3

So this is definitely a new thing: I'm posting a card blitz post and I'm not home! In fact I am more than 10 hours away from home (by car), but I made sure to bring my Flying Unicorn Small Art, Big Passion and Mixed Passion kits with me in case I had the opportunity to get my craft on!

I had that chance today and here are my cards made!

This one is made based on the card sketch over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge:

I do apologize in advance for the photos as they were taken in the hotel room with little lighting.
This is the front of the card based on the sketch above

This is the inside of the card

Thanks so much for dropping by! Continue on to Card #1 or #2 from the Blitz, if you'd like; There are 3 cards that are part of this blitz!

Graphic 45 3x3 notecard sets with coordinating boxes

It's been a long while since I've done a project share just because I completed a project, but here is one for you!!

This project is actually two projects that consist of two similar card sets with coordinating boxes & envelopes, made for a swap which I'm a part of this holiday season.

There are 6 - 3x3 notecards, 2 sets of 3 and they are shown below:

The collection I used for this notecard set is called 'Twas the Night Before Christmas from Graphic 45.

I cut the stars and snowflakes out using my Silhouette Cameo, and the frames behind the snowflakes were cut from my Cricut Create; Fancy Frames cartridge.

The coordinating boxes were made using my WRMK envelope punch board, following the Youtube tutorial found here: Make a Box with the Envelope Punch Board with Deb Valder.
I decorated the boxes to look like presents and added a piece of chipboard to the front of each one.

I also made some envelopes to go with the notecards and those are included with the sets. :)

Hopefully this got your mojo going, even if it's just a little bit.

Early December Card Making Blitz, Card #5

For those of you who drop by on a semi-regular basis, you may know the drill by now.

I find a sketch, make a card based on the sketch, and post the result. :)

This card is based on the sketch over at Viva la Verve sketches!

My take on the sketch goes like this:

I'm aware the photo is crooked, but I kind of took these in a rush before work. They needed to be in the mail last week! LOL

Prima's November Build a Page Entry

Sooooo, this entry is a bit different than my normal Prima BAP entries.

I was in a tad bit of a slump when it came to layouts, so I decided to do a burlap canvas for the November Prima BAP challenge.

The sketch that was to be used as inspiration was designed by someone who I look to for inspiration daily: Keren Tamir.

My take on the sketch via canvas is below:

I initially used some of my Prima Romance Novel scraps for the base texture.. Then I used some gesso on top of that, along with some modeling paste with the Prima Bubbles stencil on top of that.
I stamped on the gesso'd background using archival ink with the Prima Romance Novel background stamp, but it kinda got covered up in the creation process.

I threw on some Prima Color Bloom sprays and altered a resin frame with an image cut out from the Time Traveler's collection. Embellished with some cheesecloth, Prima flowers and venice lace that I cut apart.

Feel free to leave me a comment if you have any questions!!

The Latest Colorful Creations Sketch Challenge is Now Live!

The Colorful Creations challenge that started on the 15th incorporates both a sketch and a color palette.

The sketch was a piece of cake to work with, but the colour palette made me a bit nervous...

The sketch
The colour palette
These colours were so NOT my colours - In order to remove the intimidation I was feeling with these colours, I decided to pick a couple for my main colours and try to incorporate other colours wherever I could.

I ended up with this layout:

As you can see, I used the red (Ablaze) and black (Tricorn Black) from the colour palette as my main colours.
Then for the embellishments, I brought in some of the pink (Lei Flower) and lime green (Lime Rickey) on the flowers, pearls and leaves.

I'm very happy that I was able to incorporate so many of the colours that originally cause me a tiny bit of panic when I saw them posted up for the design team. LOL

I hope this has helped in encouraging you to try a step-by-step process when it comes to incorporating certain colours on your layout!

I expect to see your take on this sketch and/or colour scheme on the Colorful Creations blog!!
