Time to get sketchy (again!)

So, I've been making some notecard holders with my Prima Cartographer collection.

I really like the way they've been coming out, but I had so many scraps, so I took on this challenge from the Let's Get Sketchy blog!

The sketch looks a little something like this:

And my take on the sketch goes a little something like this:

The first pic is blurry and for that I apologize. I was kind of in a rush to take it. :P

This is most definitely the most masculine layout I've ever created and I really like it. It's a tad busy for my typical taste, but that's because of the paper prints I think... But once I started layering, it was difficult to stop. LOL

Thanks for dropping by!

Scrapping Everyday Miracle Entry, Part 1

Sometimes you're up for a lot of challenge and sometimes you're up for a little challenge. And I really enjoy that the Scrapping Everyday Miracles blog gives you multiple challenge options to choose from. :)

This time around, I chose to take on the scrapbook layout sketch and card sketch challenges that were posted for the June challenges.

The card sketch is as follows:

And my take on it, coming right up!

Well, that's all folks!

I hope you're having a crafty fun time and I'll see you back here soon!

Featured Layout for Creative Scrappers!

So, I was just going through the regular Saturday morning look through for new blog content for the blogs in my bookmark bar, and look at what I found!

My entry into the Creative Scrappers challenge was featured mid week on their blog!  I am so honoured to have my layout chosen!!  Thank you to the kind folks over as Creative Scrappers for their awesome comments on my layout! It means more to me than I think they are aware, as I've never been featured before!

If you want to take a look at the original blog post, you can find it by clicking here!

Scrapbook Page for L P S

And no, L P S does not stand for Local Paper Society. :P

This is my entry post for the challenge over at Life. Paper. Scrapbook. :)

The sketch for June is as follows:

I liked this sketch quite a bit because I tend to be drawn to layouts with quite a bit of white space. :)

My take on the sketch is below:

I've really liked the close up shots I've been taking of my projects recently and I hope you do as well. :) It's a change for me, but I've been waking up earlier to craft more and well, the indirect sunlight coming into the room has been working well so far. :)

Hope to see you back soon!

Freshly Made Card!

Okay, so maybe this challenge AND CAS(E) are both my new favourite card challenges!

Clean lines? Simple? Fresh? Oh yeah!

This is another card challenge I'm entering, hosted by Freshly Made Sketches!

Simply put, this is another card sketch challenge tailored to simple card-making folks like myself. :)

The sketch for the challenge this time around was:

Seems pretty simple right? I know! So Awesome!

Anyway, here is my take on this sketch. :)

Not only did I take a softer tone approach to this card, but I added even more softness by using up some scrap eyelet trim and Chinese braid trim I had literally laying around on my desk. :)

CAS(E) all the time, everywhere!

Okay, I think I may have just found my favourite card sketch challenge!

While, I don't mean to say other challenges don't deserve recognition, this type of challenge is my favourite due to the challenge aiming to simplify card making.

Once again, not putting down other styles of cards at all but sometimes you just want to create something simple, functional and still nice looking. :)

So without further ado, here is the sketch from the CAS(E) this sketch challenge!

(Yes, I know it was a fusion style challenge, but I went with the sketch only).

And here is my take on the sketch!

Perfect style of card for mailing without added postage! I feel like I could make tons of these and really start to get use of my stamps once my sentiment stickers run out (if that's even possible??).

Thanks for dropping by!!

Let's get retro!

And by that, I mean, here's an entry into the retro sketches challenge!

It's another card (since I'm trying to use up my collection by Carta Bella).

The sketch is as follows:

And my take on it is below!

I used the A2 dimension sketch and turned it into a 6x6 card while also using inspiration from the design team, incorporating "stitching" on my card. :)

Scrap & Play I tell ya!

Well actually, this is another layout entry into a scrap lifting challenge over on the Scrap & Play challenges blog!

So, we were scraplifting the following layout:

And I love scraplifting as opposed to sketch following because I feel like it's a tad easier since you have more to work with than if you started with just a sketch.

Anyway, getting down to business, this is the layout I created based on the one above!

I've got only one full 12x12 sheet of paper from the Hello Again collection from Carta Bella!  Guess I'm on the hunt for another challenge that is great for using scraps, as this one was!

Thanks for stopping by!

Wherever this crafty flow is coming from...

I don't want it to stop!! Lol

This time, the post is for a scrapbook layout sketch challenge on the Stuck?! blog!

The sketch goes a little something like this:

The super cool thing about my rendition of this layout is that I used watered down acrylic paint for the splatter-y effect... (While getting the keyboard, monitor and desk splatter-y as well!)

I'm just going through my Hello Again papers by Carta Bella like crazy!  Only got a few sheets left, so I'll probably be using them up in the next few days? few hours maybe? :)

A card! A card! A card has been made!

I tend to prefer to make cards on demand, but I decided to make one to enter into two challenges currently going on!

The first challenge is the theme challenge over at the 4 Crafty Chicks blog.
The theme for Challenge #198 is BABY.

Although I don't buy Baby themed paper collections since I don't really know anyone with babies, nor do I have my own, I decided to make a more generic baby themed card. :)

The second challenge this was made for is the sketch challenge over at the Cardabilities blog.

The sketch for Challenge #101 is as follows:

The card I made, was made using the Prima Lyric collection, a metal flower filigree embellishment, some bling, some lace trim and a number of layers of chipboard for lightly added dimension.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you next time!

An entry into two challenges!

This is my first time ever attempting to enter multiple challenges in one blog post! I hope I do this right!

The first challenge I'm entering is the challenge found over on the Challenge YOUrself blog.

The Challenge is called: Oh Boy! and the challenge is as follows:

Create a layout about YOU AND THE MALE(S) in your life.
This could be your father, grandfather, husband, son, a furry family pet. {yes... we love our pets too}.
Remember to include YOU in the layout.

Now, I don't have any men in my family, not even as pets, but I do have a boy that is my friend. :P

The second challenge I'm entering is the challenge found over on the Creative Scrappers blog.

This challenge is a sketch challenge, and the sketch is as follows:

My layout to enter for both of these challenges is below!!

I used the Hello Again collection by Carta Bella for this layout along with some lace trim, bling and glossy accents. :)

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you've been inspired!

Stuck?! Sketch Challenge Entry

So, this is my first time submitting a layout for the Stuck?! sketches challenges!

This entry is specifically for the June 1st sketch:

For my layout I used Graphic 45's Sweet Sentiments collection mixed with a touch of Botanical Tea goodness and this is what I came up with:

Because this is a top down view, you aren't able to see the layers, however, the border is raised and so is the main photo cluster space.  :)

Anyway, thanks for dropping by, and I hope you were inspired to finish up those spring collections!!

Botanical Tea ATCs to share with you!

So, a couple weeks ago, I posted about being super lucky at winning Graphic 45's Mother's Day contest on Facebook here.

Well, I went to New York city a couple weekends ago, and when I came back, I was really hurting for lack of crafting. Don't get me wrong, NYC is a great place in which to be a tourist, but I lacked craftiness so bad, I bought a small mixed media pad, and some basic colours of paint on my second last day there. Lol
YEP, I really needed to get crafty. :P

Anyway, once I came back, I got to fussy cutting a bunch of the sheets of the pad that I had won from Graphic 45 because I thought I'd consider that pad of paper my fussy cutting pad. :) Well, if you take a look at what I won, I also won a pack of the ATC sized tags.

I love making ATCs. And with all the little fussy cut pieces, I decided to get to work on making some Botanical Tea inspired ATC cards! I also posted a photo to the Graphic 45 Facebook page, but here it is again in case, you're not a follower of theirs. :)

I had a blast making them, and I really enjoyed their shape!  I've never made an ATC with these shapes before! I think I'll be posting a video of them soon, but not sure when. If I do, I'll try to remember to link it here on this blog post. :)
