Kaisercraft January Saturday Sketch Layout Entry

Here we scrap again!!

Kaisercraft hosts a series of scrapbook layout sketch challenges each month, and I thought about entering for January...

But I just hadn't been able to get around to it... Until about... Now... You know, 4 hrs before the challenge closes. LOL

I decided to create a layout for Saturday Sketch #1.

I used a portion of an add-on kit from  Gossamer Blue to create this layout. Photos below!

The Gossamer Blue kit I got - The papers I used in the layout are all under the yellow-y papers. :)

The photos I planned to use... These photos are of a waffle. Which I ate and tremendously enjoyed!

This the layout in its entirety! The detail photos are below!

Many thanks for dropping in and checking out my blog! I hope you're entering as many layout/sketch challenges as I am! I have more to enter within the next 24 hrs, so it's off to bed with me for now! LOL

Finished... With an Hour to Spare!

Haha, Yes!

See, this post is all about sticking to what you say you're going to do, even if you're the biggest procrastinator in the history of procrastinators!

So, at the beginning of the month, I mentioned that I would be participating in the ScrapMuch? colour challenge for January!

Well, the deadline for that challenge, at the time of posting is an hour away, and here it is!

Huzzah!

Thankfully the requirements stated a paper crafted project of any type. Because otherwise I'd be at a loss!

This is an altered paper mache heart ornament!

These were the colours we were to play with this month:

Soooo, here's what I came up with!!!

I planned to put some kind of sentiment on it, but since I don't know what I'll use it for yet, I decided not to do that... Don't want to commit it to something and then not be able to use it for something else later on. :P

The process was somewhat simple -
I painted the whole paper mache heart in the dark brown, even though you can't see it in the photos...
Then I cut the paper I found in my stash to fit. I inked the edges in Tim Holtz Vintage photo.
I picked a nice yellow trim to go around the heart's edge, and thanks to the stretchiness of the trim and the shape of the heart, it took to the shape VERY well! It made adhering the trim SO much easier! I think this is trim I got from Lavish Laces on Etsy!

Then I adhered that huge blue flower, followed by those pink flowers and added a hint of bling. All those were received as part of my December kit from Scrapbooking with M.E. boutique.

I found a yellow cabuchon that I thought added a hint of "Pow" to the floral 'arrangement'.
Then I added a dark brown butterfly that I also found in my stash, which used to be a brad, but I used my wire cutters and removed the poke-y part. :)

Okay then!

That's all for now!

Playing in Paradise Entry!

Hey everyone!

I've decided somewhat spontaneously to enter the Scrapbooker's Paradise Playing in Paradise challenge #101.
The theme for this challenge was mists and since I have so few, I thought it wouldn't be that difficult to enter - The less you have, the easier it is to decide what to do. :P

Simce I'm crafting for a craft show that's happening next weekend (CraftStock, in Hamilton, ON), I thought I'd make a card that I could have for the show. :)

It's a "love" themed card without all the pinks, reds, and whites!

I used the Butternut Squash Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist with a stencil for the card front background. On top, I layered some orange textured cardstock with the sentiment stamped vertically.
I then stamped a vine heart on some patterned cardstock (I think it's from DCWV) that I cut out and then adhered to the main part of the card using some dimensional adhesive. :)

Thanks to Scrapbooker's Paradise for hosting this challenge!

January update for you all!

Howdy folks!

Well, it's been a while since I've posted on here, although it hasn't been as long since I uploaded some Youtube videos!
I've linked to those at the end of this post. :)

In February, I will be part of a craft show in Hamilton, ON and I've been hurriedly preparing for that, which is why I seem to have disappeared. Once that's all said and done, I shall return to more frequent blogging!

This weekend, I plan to post all the swap projects I've worked on in the last little while. Should be fun fun fun!
I always have seem to forget to take pics of swap projects, even though they help build my creative repertoire! It was so frustrating that now I keep a camera in my craft room, hanging on a lanyard so that I always see it. I hope it helps jog my memory a bit more when it comes to keeping record of what I've worked on!

Today, I finally got around to linking all of the craft community sites that I belong to in the sidebar over there!
==============>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

As you can see, I belong to many active crafting communities that keep my creative juices flowing with all the swaps they host! I get to use FAR more things that I own because I belong to those sites! It's pretty awesome!

And here are the latest videos that I've posted on Youtube, for you all to go check out. :)

My boyfriend is the sweetest person! He went out and got me a ton of Mod Podge since he knew I would be starting a relatively large project. He had no idea what he was looking for when he went into Michaels, but came out with gloss and matte Mod Podge and some Hello Kitty stuff that I had been eyeing for a while!!!  As everyone says, he's a keeper! ;)

I had placed a massive order over at Lavish Laces on Etsy in December before my spending freeze, (which seems to be thawing a bit - help me keep on track)!!
Jaizella is an amazingly flexible person to work with and ridiculously professional with what she does! I *highly* recommend that you go check out her store, and no, she is not paying me to say this! LOL

This is a mini album I made for a very dear friend of mine - And although it wasn't "completely" finished when I recorded this (I added some tags and photo mats to it after I recorded the video), this is it *mostly* done!
I got this kit from the wonderful Edith over at Scrapbooking with M.E. Boutique on Facebook. She is also another wonderful lady to work with and she helps the crafty community get what they're looking for affordably and quickly! I love getting updates from her!

This is the very first altered canvas I ever made, and I turned it into a calendar for a friend of mine for Christmas, but only recently posted the video just in case he stopped by my channel BEFORE getting the parcel. :)  I learned a lot while making this and have plans to make more in the near future!!!

Hope that was enough of an update for you!!  As per the standard, should you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comment section, and I'll get back to you ASAP!

My Entry Into the challenge at "Use Your Stuff"

Told you more projects would be heading to my blog near you!! ;)

Below is my entry into the challenge over on the "Use Your Stuff" blog!

I did not like this paper collection at all after opening it.. It was some collection by Crate Paper, and it just didn't jive with me...

The challenge at "Use Your Stuff" was to use a circle on the layout.

I don't have a circle maker, nor do I have a personal cutting maching to cut me a circle large enough for a layout, so what I did was the following:

I took a large paper doily, sprayed it to Timbuktu and back with Dylusions sprays, Adirondack color washes and Tattered Angels glimmer mist.
I had to wait for it to dry overnight - It was pretty damp after all was said and done.
I then cut the doily's center out from all the design part on the outside. This took some time, but in the end I got my circle!

The rest of the layout is pretty easy to figure out. I did my journaling on the doily in the end... I was going to do it in that space at the bottom, but I kind of liked it bare. :)

Anyway - It's picture time!!

Aaaaand that's all folks!!

Christmas Coffee Cup Holder Mini Project

Howdy everyone in the internet world!

Here is a coffee cup holder mini album I made for a swap on the Mini Album Scraps community website! :)

It was my first time ever making such a project (a coffee cup mini album) and it was interesting to complete. I have a bunch of extra holders that I picked up when I was making this one... While I do have them, I don't think I'll be making more of such albums once I've gone through the cup holders I have (which should be able to make another 2 minis).

I found that having to cut the paper to size was quite cumbersome. But this was the only way unless I'm doing it wrong? If any of you have any ideas on how to make that part easier and therefore make the process more enjoyable, please do let me know!

If there were a die or something similar I would use to run the paper through in order to make the "right" shape, then I don't think I would have minded so much. :P

Anyway, on to the photos!

The photos aren't really in order, but I imagine you can get the idea of  what it's about pretty easily. :)

Thanks for checking in - I greatly appreciate it!!

If you have any questions about any of the process of making this album, please feel free to post them here!!

ScrapMuch? January Colour Challenge!!

Hopefully your new year is going great so far!!

I mentioned in a previous post, that I was on a spending freeze for crafts. What I meant by this is that I would not be buying anymore crafts based on what I "have to have", but instead only when I *need* to have it.

If I run out of glue, I won't start stapling things together, I'll go out and get glue! LOL

Just clarifying that for those who were wondering - I haven't abandoned the craft, just the bad purchasing habits that can accommodate such a love for this type of craft. :P

Alright, so, back to business!

Last month, even though I made it in for the ScrapMuch? December layout challenge (and won!), this month I thought I'd take on - and actually complete - the ScrapMuch? colour challenge!

The colours this month are as follows:
Carnation Pink, Sky Blue, Sunny Yellow and Chestnut Brown (yes, that last colour is BROWN, not black)

This is a great colour scheme to apply to projects that are based on springtime so hopefully I can complete one using this colour scheme!

So ScrapMuch?... I accept your challenge!  I don't know if you'll defeat me this month again, but I sure hope not!! :)

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year to everyone!!

I hope everyone has a properous and creative new year, whatever your level of creativity is at the moment!

On to some exciting news...

After my "hard labour" at the end of last week creating submissions for the ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday layout challenges, I am proud to announce that I was named the December 2012 winner!! :D

(I kid you not - The proof is right here!!)

I should also mention, that I'm currently on a crafty supply spending freeze which means more challenge entries and more projects coming to you in 2013!!
(This doesn't include things I *need* such as adhesives and other basics like that).

Alright-y then, time to continue on another project I'm working on! I'm sick, so this is definitely a good day to do that as the bf plays Xbox360. :)

You guys rock, and I appreciate all your support!!
