GrandDiva's Scrapbook Sketch Challenge Entry

Ok, so, just one more for tonight, and that's actually only because I forgot about posting it earlier on last week. :)

The folks over at GrandDiva's Creative Corner are having an August sketch challenge.

The sketch goes a little something like this:

And my take on the sketch goes a little something like this:

I'm pretty sure this was the last layout I made using the Studio Calico Penny Arcade July scrapbook kit that I received at the end of July. :)

Anyway, thanks for dropping by!

Stuck Sketches with Mixed Media in August

So, it seems I'm fond of mixed media, as this layout is another mixed media layout.

It's of me when I used to be in fashion shows and loving it. :)

I used a crafter's workshop stencil for the background and many bits from the Studio Calico scrapbook grab bag that I got last week.

The sketch I used to direct me with this layout comes from Stuck's August First Challenge!

My take on this sketch went something like this:

I know, the picture is a tad blurry, but it was the best I could do with what I was using tonight. I think I need to set up a mini light box or something. But anyway...

Thanks for dropping by!

Berry71Bleu Scrapbook Sketch Challenge Entry

Just making sure to get this up in the morning before I get too busy throughout the day...

Here is my entry to the Berry71Bleu August Scrapbook Sketch Challenge!

The sketch was made in such a way that I, personally, think was super easy-going, which made it feel like it could be interpreted in all sorts of ways!

In any case, the sketch used for this challenge is:

And my take on it, went a little something like this:

I think I'm starting to get a feel for this mixed media stuff!

I used up all of the embellishments left from my Studio Calico scrapbook kit (YAY) and used a bunch of my gesso/gel mixure with a ton of Tattered Angels sprays! I used my leftover wooden letters as background effect bits and stamped the word "Hoard" in a bunch of places because, as you can see in the photo, I like to hoard cereal. LOL

In fact, I try to always make sure my cereal pantry is full (And yes, my cereal has it's own cupboard in the pantry area!)

A2Z Scraplets August Scrapbook Sketch Challenge

In this post, I will be sharing with you a layout I've created for the August challenge over at A2Z Scraplets.

This is a company I've recently found out about because they had their challenge info posted somewhere... But after taking a look at their stuff, I'm seeing that they specialize in laser cut chipboard!
Laser cut chipboard is something I'm so addicted to (even if I don't really use it very often), and so I hope to be able to find somewhere that carries them locally one day in my searches so I can see what they're about. :)

The sketch that was posted this month was from PageMaps...

My take on the sketch went something like this...

For this layout, I didn't take any "dimensional" photos since it was a relatively flat layout, but I will mention that liquid pearls can be such a troublesome product... Especially if you're going around the WHOLE layout. LOL

I have no idea how many dots of the stuff I put down, but while I love the texture, the process was quite time consuming, AND I botched it a bit in the lower right hand corner. /sigh

Anyway, thanks for dropping by!

Once Upon a Sketch Scrapbook Layout Challenge Entry

Hey there!

Thanks for visiting!

Just wanted to share with you my entry into the OUAS scrapbook layout challenge.

The challenge jounalling theme was "The men in our lives..." and the sketch that went with the challenge went a little something like this:

My layout was about how dance has brought wonderful people into my life, but specifically, a man named Anton. He is someone I truly admire and this layout is dedicated to him and his awesomeness. :)

This was probably what I would consider my first mixed media style of layout. I used my Studio Calico scrapbook kit to create it, along with: my new twinkling h2o's for some background colour, a bunch of tattered angel sprays to add to the background colouring, some gesso mixed with some gel medium for another layer of colouring and some inka gold paste mixed with gel medium to add serious texture to those clouds on the left hand side.

The title is simply A.S. because it's Anton's initials. :)

Pinterest Tuesday, Second Edition

Today I'd like to feature a layout I spotted on Pinterest. The pinterest link to this layout can be found here.

And the layout itself is this one!

Every time I scrolled through my Pinterest feed, this layout kept catching my eye! I think it may have something to do with the elegant nature of this layout; With the beautiful punch used around the edges of the layers to the fussy cut pieces being layered so nicely, it really adds a lot to this layout!

I'm also a huge fan of the fact that even though there is so much happening on this layout, it doesn't take away from the photo at all! I think it's because the photo's in black and white and is so "punchy" on such a light coloured themed layout. :)

If you haven't joined Pinterest yet, I think that it is about time you did. ;) There's so much inspiration to be found there, and you can find it without all the clutter of the text on a page - Kind of like all the text here! Lol

Time to get sketchy (again!)

So, I've been making some notecard holders with my Prima Cartographer collection.

I really like the way they've been coming out, but I had so many scraps, so I took on this challenge from the Let's Get Sketchy blog!

The sketch looks a little something like this:

And my take on the sketch goes a little something like this:

The first pic is blurry and for that I apologize. I was kind of in a rush to take it. :P

This is most definitely the most masculine layout I've ever created and I really like it. It's a tad busy for my typical taste, but that's because of the paper prints I think... But once I started layering, it was difficult to stop. LOL

Scrapbook Page for L P S

And no, L P S does not stand for Local Paper Society. :P

This is my entry post for the challenge over at Life. Paper. Scrapbook. :)

The sketch for June is as follows:

I liked this sketch quite a bit because I tend to be drawn to layouts with quite a bit of white space. :)

My take on the sketch is below:

I've really liked the close up shots I've been taking of my projects recently and I hope you do as well. :) It's a change for me, but I've been waking up earlier to craft more and well, the indirect sunlight coming into the room has been working well so far. :)

Hope to see you back soon!

An entry into two challenges!

This is my first time ever attempting to enter multiple challenges in one blog post! I hope I do this right!

The first challenge I'm entering is the challenge found over on the Challenge YOUrself blog.

The Challenge is called: Oh Boy! and the challenge is as follows:

Create a layout about YOU AND THE MALE(S) in your life.
This could be your father, grandfather, husband, son, a furry family pet. {yes... we love our pets too}.
Remember to include YOU in the layout.

Now, I don't have any men in my family, not even as pets, but I do have a boy that is my friend. :P

The second challenge I'm entering is the challenge found over on the Creative Scrappers blog.

This challenge is a sketch challenge, and the sketch is as follows:

My layout to enter for both of these challenges is below!!

I used the Hello Again collection by Carta Bella for this layout along with some lace trim, bling and glossy accents. :)

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you've been inspired!

Stuck?! Sketch Challenge Entry

So, this is my first time submitting a layout for the Stuck?! sketches challenges!

This entry is specifically for the June 1st sketch:

For my layout I used Graphic 45's Sweet Sentiments collection mixed with a touch of Botanical Tea goodness and this is what I came up with:

Because this is a top down view, you aren't able to see the layers, however, the border is raised and so is the main photo cluster space.  :)

Anyway, thanks for dropping by, and I hope you were inspired to finish up those spring collections!!

What is this nonsense?!

Am I really posting twice so close together after so long of not posting??  What's going on?? Oh right! I got my mojo back for a bit so I'm using it while I have it! That explains it!

Well, let's get right down to business then!

Life. Paper. Scrapbook have their April scrapbook sketch challenge up and here is my take on it!

So, after completing this layout, I kept going a bit crazy looking at it since the title is sideways! I know it may seem like a pretty basic embellishment method, but I can't remember the last time I did that!

So anyway, that's what I've got for y'all today!

How embarrasing...

Has it really been that long since I posted a blog entry??!??!

Daaaannnnggggg!!!

Ok, well, I think Kerry got her mojo back last weekend at the SoC weekend retreat in Atlanta, because for some reason, I can't stop making layouts... No, I'm not kidding.

And the size doesn't matter either.

One thing I did learn this past weekend is that I VERY MUCH prefer to create layouts with coordinating kits and/or collections.

Some people are great with mixing and matching, and that's not me. LOL

In any case, I've been powering through the BoBunny Primrose collection since it's super gorgeous, and I've created an entry for the OUAS challenge this month.

The journalling theme for April is: "An event that changed my life..."

Now, while I do understand that my layout is not directly associated with me personally, it is about something that changed my life indirectly.

Without further adieu, here it is...

Thanks for stopping in! :)

I may have another layout for the OUAS challenge this month, but I'm trying to finish going through the BoBunny collection before starting up another collection.

This collection is quite addictive!

I may add additional dimensional photos to this blog post later on, but for now... That's all folks!

So there's one more layout to add to today's bunch! Another challenge entry!

I'm down to bits and pieces from the SC kit (Since embellishments weren't that plentiful), however I've started sipping into my already existing stash to keep things moving!

Here's my entry into the Scrapbook Challenges Sketch Challenge #354!

Okay, and now that's it... For tonight... No, really...

Entry into ScrapMuch? sketch challenge (#4), Studio Calico Layout #11

Last (for today) but not least, my final entry into the last Sketch-y Friday challenge over at ScrapMuch? for the month of July!

I sorta flipped a few things around here and there. I cut the photo mat to fit a 5x7 photo, but have none at the moment, so blank it shall remain until it can be populated with a photo!

Thanks for stopping by!

Entry Into ScrapMuch? sketch challenge (#3), Studio Calico Layout #10

Cut to the chase:

3rd entry for the ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday challenge for the month of July!

Yep, a layout all about me and dancing anywhere and everywhere! :)

Thanks so much for dropping by!!

Entry Into ScrapMuch? sketch challenge (#2), Studio Calico layout #9

Yep, been really busy this weekend!

Here's my take on the 2nd Sketch-y Friday challenge from ScrapMuch? for the month of July!

Used some Smooch shimmer mists, and realized that they are possibly my favourite mists to use on a page. They are so light and airy and they provide an adequate level of shimmer!

I should point out that the title of this layout is "Welcome to Iceland". The 'Iceland' part is a shimmer sticker so it doesn't show up very well. :P

Studio Calico Layout #7 & Entry into Once Upon a Sketch Challenge!

The theme at the Once Upon a Sketch challenge this week is "Grow".

I don't have many pictures reflecting that when it comes to myself, but i found one of one of my friends' children.
She was born almost 3 months premature and developed some complications as a result, however she is a happy baby that loves attention!

Anyway, here's my take on the sketch!

Scrapbook Challenges challege #353, Studio Calico layout #6

I've been trying to stay pretty true to the kit by only using stuff that comes in it, but on a couple layouts I'm using some of my own embellies or trims since I find that there wasn't enough variety in the embellies that came with the kit.

Not to worry, it's helping me to use my stash a lot faster!!

Okay, so here is my entry to the Scrapbook Challenges blog challenge #353!

Love the strips of chevron-y goodness! :)
